Artiste! - Discontinued (Hopefully Temporarily)

Posted on January 12, 2015 by Ben Harris

We have some rather unfortunate news with regards to our Artiste! topcoat.

While many have been enjoying its special powers to not smudge nail art or dull holos and to finish your nail art masterpieces with a high gloss shine, we did receive a few complaints with some bottles being overly thick and stringy. Further investigation showed that these bottles all came from the same batch and was due to them literally being from the bottom of the manufacturer's barrel.

You see, Artiste! is a long lost gem that was before its time, and we weren't aware that we had the last of it. It's not that it's completely unobtainable, but in order to keep stocking it, we'd need to order in an awful lot of it! This is something that we hope to do in the future, but as for right now, it's simply not viable. Sadly, we have no choice but to discontinue Artiste! at this point in time and hope that it generates enough interest in the future to restock it. Many apologies to those who are already fans of this topcoat.

Like any top coat, Artiste! begins to naturally thicken from air trapped in the bottle when you hit the halfway mark. This can be remedied with some nail polish thinner (not remover!) and you can continue to use your Artiste! top coat. However, many bottles from batch B24654 were reported and thick and unusable, leaving small stringy wisps of polish on the brush as soon as a brand new bottle was opened and that's definitely not the kind of quality product we pride ourselves on here at Pretty Serious.

For those that have experienced this issue with their Artiste! topcoat, check the base label. The batch number can be found (starting with a B) under the Artiste name on base of your bottle. Please contact us at with your order number (or reseller that you purchased from) and batch number and we will be happy to help you out.

We currently have a small amount of Artiste! left in stock in our US warehouse (Australia/Rest of World is completely sold out), which have been checked to ensure quality consistency and formula, but once they are gone, they are gone for the foreseeable future.

Once again, we apologise to anyone who received a bad bottle of Artiste! that did not live up to expectations or our claims of magnificence. We hope to bring Artiste! back sometime down the track so that everyone can experience this amazing product as it was truly meant to be.
