Christmas Without Snow: Blue Gums on Boxing Day

Posted on November 30, 2012 by Karen Aitken

Firstly, I think I need to explain the name of this polish to those of you that reside somewhere other than our sunny shores. A Blue Gum is a species of Eucalyptus tree with an amazing blue-grey cast to it's green leaf. It's a common occurrence in Australia to attend large family barbecues at local parklands on the day after Christmas where you're likely to find these mammoth Eucalypts, as well as many other native flora and fauna too, if you're lucky!

Hence, Blue Gums on Boxing Day is not only a great way to wrap up the Christmas festivities as we head into the New Year, but also a great way to end our Christmas Without Snow collection as well.

It took a lot of work to get this one right and I think the end result is pretty darn amazing. The fabulous neutral green base isn't too blue or too yellow, it's just perfect.

Add in the blue shimmer and this is one special polish. Another unique creation for a unique collection that's so close to my heart.I really hope you enjoy these polishes as much as I enjoyed creating them for you. I'm so happy to be able to share a little piece of our unique Christmas celebrations with you all.
