Paint It Blue 2013

Posted on April 10, 2013 by Karen Aitken

If I may take a break from our fabulous birthday news for just a moment, I'd like to tell you all about something else Pretty Serious is involved in for April. For those of you that haven't seen the flood of blue manicures on blogs and social media, April is Autism Awareness Month, and Pretty Serious Cosmetics is proud to be taking part in a charity auction raising money for ASPECT Australia. Before I show you our wonderful, one of a kind shade that you can bid on, here's a little more on what it's all about from the auction organiser, Tara of Loki's Lacquer.

This month is AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH. It is a world wide event. As a parent of a child with Autism this month is very close to my heart. So this year I have decided to raise funds for ASPECT Australia. This charity has done so many things for my daughter it is unbelievable! From the first time they sent someone from their Building Blocks program to our house when Zoe was 4 year old (and could not even speak) , to getting Zoe a placement in their special needs class and then following her progress closely, to putting Zoe in1to a main stream school and insuring she got the best help possible!
In the past it has always been my hubby raising funds with his crazy running. Like running 100 kms in the bush in The North Face 100 a few years back. But now it is my turn, and with the help of the Nail polish community and the FANTASTIC Indie polish makers out there we will be having several auctions of special 1 of a kind custom blue polishes made especially for Autism awareness month.

We'll be joining other indie brands such as Alanna Renee, Shades of Phoenix, Gloss & Sparkle, Nerdlacquer, Lynderella and many more in offering a one of a kind, custom blended polish for auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to ASPECT Australia. To follow the progess and find out more info on how and when you can bid, make sure you follow the Paint It Blue! blog.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce our shade, a wonderful blue. green and gold glitter mix in a blue jelly - The Great Below.

Remember to follow the Paint It Blue blog for sneak peeks on other participating brands and auction information!
